Learning belly dance 18 years ago changed my (Nathara) life in so many ways – all the for the good. I found a way to express myself, to move the music I was feeling through  my body and into the world, I met a sisterhood of amazing women I never would have known otherwise, and I’ve kept my body going good and strong over the decades, including recovering from a back injury so bad that the doctors wanted to cauterize the nerves in my spine. Of course, your mileage may vary, but these are what I’ve received from Belly Dance and I’m certain you will too.

Ongoing Classes

Krisenna at Thrive Cultural Academy (Children)

Krisenna’s cultural dance for children class is packed with creativity and fun that keeps the students learning and engaged throughout the hour. Students learn balance, posture, presentation, foot patterns and age appropriate dance movement.

They focus on musicality and rhythm with zills patterns and keep time with tambourines and maracas. Through the fan veil and veil technique, they are exposed to the flow of energy and importance of extension and completion of movement.

Team exercises teach the girls how to interact and support one another. The program provides an uplifting foundation for the introduction to an amazing artform.

Krisenna is an amazing belly dancer well-versed in many dance forms, including ITS-Hot Pot developed by Amy Sigil. She has extensive dance and musical experience and will help you turn your dancing and musicality up a notch in the most loving and supportive way possible. Very highly recommended!

Classes are ongoing at 4:45pm – 5:30pm on Wednesdays at the Thrive Cultural Academy.

*Class fees are $55 per month – but, if you’re enrolled in the Belly Dance Basics class through the Parks and Recreation, you only pay $20 a month at Thrive.
